Apple and Samsung are currently locked in a legal battle over the look and feel of their respective products. Apple also relies on Samsung to make some of their components, particularly the A4 and A5 processors used in various iOS devices. I’m sure this recent legal action is complicating their business relationship. A report by AppleInsider suggests that Apple’s next processor, the A6, will move to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. This probably isn’t a big surprise to anyone. While Samsung has a reputation for building solid components, I’m sure Apple management isn’t happy that Apple is helping to fund a competitors’s operations. Granted, Samsung is much, much more than mobile devices, but I’m sure the principle of the thing is an issue. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Apple move work away from anyone that is a direct competitor.
